Doros Demetiou

Doros Demetriou Doros Demetriou is a cinema historian, cultural organizer, and curator of film screenings and events. He is an elected board member of CIFEJ and member of ECFA and is a member of the Cyprus Board of Film Classification. He also works at the Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival as a Development & Sponsorship Manager. He served on the Cyprus Cinema Advisory Committee (SEKIN) from 2020 until 2025
He is the Cinema Events Manager at the Cultural Workshop Agion Omologiton in Nicosia, artistic co-director of the annual Images and Views of Alternative Cinema (IVAC) festival, and vice-president and events organizer/curator for “Fotodos” Photography Club. He collaborates regularly with the Cultural Services of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Education and Culture on film education projects and lectures on the history of cinema in Cyprus and abroad.
He is an advisor at the BCEFF in Vancouver, and member of the selection committee of the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus. He is also the Media Coordinator for the 2025 Larnaca Biennale. Doros has studied Cinematherapy at the University of Athens, holds degrees in Electronic Engineering (Queen Mary University of London) and Visual Theories/Cinema (MA, University of East London), and is co-founder of the CineTexts webpage.
