Danae Stylianou
Danae Stylianou is a filmmaker based in Cyprus, specialising in documentary production. After graduating from the University of Westminster in 2004 in Film Production, she went on to direct various shorts and three documentary feature films which screened at various international film festivals: Sharing an island (2011), A Haircut Story (2014) and Birth Days (2018). Her documentary work focuses on issues that concern the global citizen and aims to raise social and political awareness. She produces documentary and other audiovisual content for educational platforms, artists and NGOs. She worked for more than 15 years as a casting director for cinema and television in Greece and Cyprus. Since 2011, she has been on the organising team of the two major, state-funded film festivals of Cyprus -Cyprus Film Days IF (2011-) and the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (2011 – 2021). In 2020, she was appointed head of Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days – the industry section of Cyprus Film Days IF. She has been working on the communication and production of Lemesos International Documentary Festival, since 2012.
